Vayu mit Antilope (auch Hirsch) - er wird auch mit Pferdewagen dargestellt

Vayu (Wind, Luft), auch Pavana (Reinigender), ist die vedische Personifizierung bzw. Gottheit des Windes, der Luft und des Prana. Seine Konsortin ist Vayavi, Swasti oder Bharati.
Sein Reittier ist ein Hirsch oder eine Antilope. Seine Waffe ist eine Flagge. Sein Reich ist Gandhavati.

Das Bija - Mantra ist Om Vayuve namaha

Er ist auch als Vāta, Pavana (Wind,Reiniger) und als Prāṇa bekannt.

Die 5 Chi#Prana Yoga - Pranas Prāna, Apāna, Vyāna, Udāna und Samāna werden auch als die 5 Vayu-Gottheiten bezeichnet.
