Rakta Yamari (Sansk. rakta yamari, Tib. shin je she mar in, Wylie: gshin rje gshed dmar, roter Feind des Todes) ist eine tantrischer Yidam , der auch als schreckliche Form von Bodhisattva Manjushri sowie als Form von Yamantaka angesehen wird.
Dieser rote Yamari wird in verschiedenen Traditionen praktiziert, wobei sich die Praxis hauptsächlich in der Zahl der Gottheiten im Mandala unterscheidet.
Shakyamuni Buddha soll sich als Vajradhara manifestiert haben, um den arroganten Gott des Begierdenreiches zu zähmen und das Yamari - Tantra gelehrt haben. Im reinen Dakini - Bereich lehrte Buddha Shakyamuni das Yamari - Tantra den Dakinis sowie den begnadeten Jüngern...
Rakta Yamari gehört genau wie Krishna Yamari zur neuen tibetischen Sarma - Tradition, wo er in allen Schulen praktiziert wird.
